Aerospace Stress Analysts – Aerostructures and Gas Turbine
Job Level: Engineer to Chief Engineer opportunities exist
Location: Bristol, Preston, Isle of Man, Derby
Vacancy Term: Contract and Permanent vacancies exist
Rate: Circa £30 per hour dependent on experience
Assystem UK is looking to recruit a number of high calibre stress analysis engineers for its Aerostructures and Gas Turbine teams. The engineers must be degree qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with a proven record of delivering effective engineering solutions within cost, time and quality constraints with the ability to create concise stress dossiers and interface with our customers.
Assystem UK is a well established engineering services provider to UK industry, providing solutions to various engineering industries including; aerospace, gas turbines, automotive, nuclear and energy, marine and rail.
2010 has seen a dramatic increase in project related work and as such we now have numerous opportunities for experienced Stress Engineers to join our engineering project teams based in Bristol, Preston and various other locations across the UK.
Principal Responsibilities:
Detailed stressing of both metallic and composite components using detailed FE models.
Detailed analysis of Fatigue & Damage Tolerance prediction.
Hand Calculations
Project management
Contribute to business development activities as required.
Experience Required:
Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
Aircraft Composites and Metallics
Finite Element Analysis
Loads Correlation, wing bending with fuel, cavity pressures and leading edge device loads.
Fatigue and Damage Tolerance
Weights
Software Knowledge:
ISAMI software
Patran and Nastran
ICAD and advanced UNIX
DAMTOL
SC03
Candidates with experience of other popular Stress related tools such as Ansys and Abaqus will also be considered if work experience is related.
